Variations I: Paper

We cannot point a finger at the photograph, and say: ‘It is here!’ The space in which the photograph takes place will always elude us.

My current work addresses the gap between representational and non- representational theory, and practice, using the post-continental philosophy of Laruelle in particular. Each project comprises images of photographic processes in themselves, ‘images’ that become raw material for a transformation into objects.

However, the image shown is titled: Paper Mirror: Reflection on Reflection (2013) and poses a question that inspired some of my recent work. The question here is: what contribution do mirrors (such as those internal to cameras) and paper realisations make to photography?
